Credentialing for therapists in Texas
To bill an insurer in-network in Texas you need a current Texas license, an individual NPI, an attested CAQH ProView profile, malpractice cover, and an application accepted by each insurer. We do the paperwork for up to three insurers, in your own name, and follow up until each one decides.
Insurers we apply to in Texas
In their own words, from their own pages. These are the insurers' descriptions of their process, not our promise — an insurer may close its panel, and it decides how fast.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas
“If you are an existing user of CAQH , you are required to review and attest to your data once every four months.” Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas's page
“Notifications of the determinations other than approval will be mailed within 10 business days of the decision.” Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas's page
Aetna
“Once you complete the application, we will review your request and make a decision within 60 days.” Aetna's page
“If the panel is open and we intend to pursue a contract, an Aetna Network Manager will contact you to start the formal credentialing process.” Aetna's page
“It comes within 10 business days after you’ve sent your Aetna application request form.” Aetna's page
Evernorth Behavioral Health (Cigna Healthcare)
“The full process can take up to 90 days (or as otherwise required by law).” Evernorth Behavioral Health (Cigna Healthcare)'s page
Optum Behavioral Health (UnitedHealthcare)
We can apply for you, but we could not read this insurer's own pages, so we state nothing about its process or timeline.
CAQH, NPI and your documents
- CAQH ProView is free for you, and profiles are kept on a 120-day attestation cycle (DataSpring). You attest; we remind you two weeks before each due date.
- Your NPI is checked by our form against the federal NPPES registry — name, status, taxonomy and the Texas license it lists (source).
- You upload your license, malpractice certificate and W-9 to private storage. Nothing about a client, ever.
What it costs
$450 · one state, up to three insurers
- Your CAQH ProView profile set up or brought up to date, ready for you to attest
- Applications to up to 3 commercial insurers in one state, chosen by you
- Follow-up with each insurer every two weeks until it decides, and every status on your page
- A reminder before every CAQH re-attestation for 12 months
We invoice $450 after we have read your intake and confirmed in writing which applications we will make. If we then submit nothing, we refund it in full. The fee is for the work, not for the result: insurers decide who joins their networks.
Credentialing services usually charge $100–$300 per insurer (Medwave, March 2026).
How it works
- You order and fill in the intake. License, NPI, practice address, malpractice cover. Our form checks your NPI against the federal NPPES registry while you type it in, so a mismatch is found before an insurer finds it.
- You upload three documents and sign the authorization. Your license, your malpractice certificate and a W-9, in private storage. No patient information, ever. Credentialing needs your own professional documents only. Do not upload notes, claims, superbills or anything that names a client.
- We do the paperwork. We set up or update your CAQH ProView profile through the access you delegate, you attest it, and we submit to each insurer you chose.
- We follow up until each insurer decides. Every two weeks, and you see each status and date on your page. Before every CAQH re-attestation (every 120 days) you get a reminder.
What we do not do
- We do not guarantee that an insurer accepts you, or how long it takes. Insurers decide; a panel may be closed.
- We do not attest your CAQH profile or sign a contract for you, and we do not negotiate your rates.
- We do not give legal advice.
- No Medicare or Medicaid enrollment in this package, and no group contracts — individual providers only.
- We never ask for patient information.
